What Are Relationship Attachment Styles?

Have you ever heard of relationship attachment styles?

People love taking relationship surveys, or character personality tests. They do this to not only better understand themselves, but also to better understand others in relationships. Though these tests can be fun, are they helpful? I would say most are not, but some are. Recently, I came across one that I liked, relationship attachment styles. These are characteristic traits people possess that impact their relationships with others.

Are you secure, anxious, or avoidant?

Attachment styles have three primary categories. Those who are secure, anxious or avoident. The good news is that depending on which of these three you are, they don’t permanently define you. The styles test helps you to better understand which of the three you lean toward, so you can make a conscious effort to improve any unhealthy traits you may possess.

To talk about this in more detail, I welcome special guest and dating coach Carrie Cantrell to the show. In this podcast Carrie and I will discuss what relationship styles are, how they impact relationships, and steps you can take to improve your style? Take a free test and learn your attachment style.
